Les Olive, AIA

Project Architect

Les brings almost 50 years of experience in the design and construction industry to Arise Design Partners, serving as a licensed architect. For 30 years, Les served as the campus planner and architect for SDSU Facilities & Services in Brookings, SD. During his career, almost ⅓ of the campus was constructed. Les completed numerous facility assessments across the campus. Prior to his time at SDSU, he worked with the Hot Springs, SD historic preservation officer to evaluate multiple downtown facilities that were part of the Historic Preservation District.

While at SDSU, Les led a team in completing a comprehensive system wide regental academic facilities assessment in 2011. This evaluation included over 100 facilities across the SDSU, USD, SDSM&T, DSU, NSU, and BHSU campuses. The results of this study informed planned maintenance and repairs projects plus future capital improvement projects statewide.
